Hario V60

Brew time: 3–4 minutes

A cone-shaped pour-over dripper with spiral ridges that promote even extraction. Known for producing a clean, bright, and nuanced cup.

The Hario V60 is the dripper of choice for specialty cafés worldwide. Its 60-degree cone angle and large single drainage hole demand an engaged, controlled pour — rewarding the attentive barista with a cup of exceptional clarity and brightness.

At Nerlu, the V60 is our default brewing method for most single-origin pour-overs. We use a medium-fine grind, a 93°C brew temperature as a starting point (adjusted per coffee), and a 1:15 coffee-to-water ratio. The bloom phase — a 30–40 second pre-infusion with twice the coffee weight in water — is non-negotiable for degassing freshly roasted beans and ensuring even extraction throughout the brew.
